Love at first sight!
Don't be underwhelmed by this beauteous, black tape: it is handy, VERY handy. It has the quasi-magical property of being able to amalgamate to itself. What does that mean? Well, most tape is sticky, but this stuff isn't - it doesn't STICK to things BUT it does 'stick' to itself. It is made from some rubber-like material that welds or melds to itself when pressed together. Hence the white separating strip.

Why is this good?
It depends on what you want to achieve. If you want something stretchy that will grab the braid of a rope reliably conforming to its contours, looks tidy, feels nice to touch and provides a robust and weather resistant binding to prevent fraying - then BINGO! - self amalgamating tape is your new best friend.

Its not expensive, its easy and quick to use and can be replaced with no fuss.
It even comes in yellow...
DO IT!
