In the past, I have resorted to the old 'a pair of scissors and a cigarette lighter' combo, but it always looks like a the end of a comedy cigar that has just exploded between the lips of an unsuspecting victim.

OK, you can probably do without this (admittedly) fabulously expensive tool - but if you want to cut and seal lots of ropes and make them look sharp, this will help.

No doubt there are plenty of cheaper work-arounds and alternatives on YouTube!
